LPC, LCDC
Are you in early recovery from substance abuse, and struggling with the demands of real life? Have you tried to quit but can’t stop, or been too overwhelmed to maintain sobriety?
Life can be stressful and painful, but it can also be joyful and pleasant. If you can’t stop thinking and obsessing over your drug of choice, or acting on a compulsion to use, you can’t fully experience the joys of life. They will be replaced by poor imitations of happiness that lead to greater despair.
My path to becoming a counselor has taken me through years spent as a Medical Technologist, a childcare provider, a volunteer, and a psychological research assistant. The common thread in all my endeavors has been the passion for helping others.
I have experience working in a variety of treatment settings, including inpatient and partial hospitalization, residential and intensive outpatient. Adolescent and adult clients that I have worked with come from diverse backgrounds involving mild to severe mental health and addiction issues.
It is my purpose to assist people in overcoming the struggles they have endured in the past, and the challenges they face in the present.
